Pupils and staff of Sir Apollo Kaggwa Primary School Kisaasi today enjoyed an enriching and memorable educational visit to Police Headquarters in Naguru, where they were warmly received by the Inspector General of Police, Abas Byakagaba.

The visit, organized as part of the Primary Three and Primary Four study tour program, provided a unique opportunity for the learners to connect classroom knowledge with real-life experiences within key national institutions in Uganda.

The highlight of the visit was an insightful guided tour through critical departments, including the National Command and Control Centre (NCC), the Directorate of Forensic Services, and the Directorate of Counter-Terrorism. Here, the pupils gained firsthand exposure to how modern policing works, observing how emergencies are managed, how investigations are conducted using forensic science, and how security threats are prevented. This hands-on learning experience sparked curiosity, broadened their understanding, and inspired many to begin thinking about future careers in service to the nation.

While addressing the pupils, Mr. Byakagaba delivered a powerful and heartfelt message that deeply resonated with the young audience. He reminded them that they are the leaders of tomorrow and emphasized that their success will depend on discipline, focus, and commitment to their education. His words served as both encouragement and a call to action for the learners to take their studies seriously and strive for excellence in all they do.

In addition, the IGP guided the pupils on making responsible life choices, urging them to avoid drug and alcohol abuse, remain cautious of strangers, and never accept gifts or lifts from unknown individuals. He also highlighted the importance of road safety, encouraging them to always move under the supervision of responsible adults and to stay alert in their surroundings.

The visit concluded with a strong message on values and character. The pupils were encouraged to grow into responsible citizens who respect others, obey rules, uphold discipline, remain honest, and live in a God-fearing manner. Emphasis was also placed on maintaining cleanliness and protecting the environment as part of their everyday responsibility.

This educational visit was not only informative but truly transformative, leaving a lasting impression on the pupils. It strengthened their understanding of national service, inspired positive values, and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to providing holistic, experience-based learning that prepares learners for the future.
